Plan Your Trip To Rome
Ready to book your trip to Rome? Here are my top recommendations!
✔️ Where should I book my flights?
For finding the best deals on flights, I recommend Skyscanner. Skyscanner is a travel fare aggregator website and travel metasearch engine so you can guarantee you are getting the best fares and the biggest variety of flight options.
✔️ Should I buy travel insurance?
100% YES! Travel insurance is an absolute must, a non-negotiable. Protect yourself and your belongings with my favorite travel insurance provider WorldNomads.
✔️ Should I rent a car in Rome?
Personally, I wouldn’t bother renting when traveling in Rome. It is a very walkable city and parking is not going to be easy to find. If you are planning a road trip outside of major cities, then yes you’ll need to rent a car. Depending on your itinerary, traveling by train is easy, efficient, and enjoyable to visit many destinations like Florence.
✔️ How do I book accommodation in Rome?
My go-to for hotels is Booking.com. I find Booking.com to have one of the widest range of options, plus they have so many exclusive discounts so you can book with confidence knowing you are getting the best rate.
✔️ What’s the best way to book tours in Rome?
The first place I look to for booking tours is Get Your Guide. They offer a range of top-rated experiences, a free cancellation policy, and the most competitive rates out there.

And let’s not forget how comfy and relaxed you’ll be in the golf cart, cruising around and soaking in the amazing sights.
Trust me, it’s a unique and fun way to explore Rome that you won’t regret.

How much is a golf cart tour Rome?
The cost of a golf cart tour in Rome can vary depending on several factors, including the duration of the tour, the specific itinerary and attractions included, any additional services or amenities provided, and the tour operator itself.
Prices can range from around 50 euros per person for a shorter tour to over 150 euros per person for more extensive or specialized tours.
Additionally, some tour packages may offer discounts for group bookings or include extras like entrance fees, refreshments, or guided narration.
How long should I stay in Rome?
How long you should stay in Rome really depends on what you’re into and how much time you’ve got.
If you’re on a tight schedule, a quick visit of 2-3 days will let you hit up the must-see spots like the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Vatican City, and the famous landmarks. You will also have enough time to indulge in pizza, gelato, and Aperol spritz!
But if you’ve got a bit more flexibility, I’d recommend staying for 4-7 days. That way, you can dive deeper into the city, explore different neighborhoods, check out some hidden gems, and even take a day trip or two.
And if you’re lucky enough to have a couple of weeks or more, you can really take your time to soak up all that Rome has to offer, including its museums, lesser-known sites, and nearby regions like Florence or the Amalfi Coast.
Just make sure you leave some room in your schedule to relax and soak in the amazing atmosphere of the city.

What is the best time to visit Rome?
If you’re wondering when’s the best time to visit Rome, here’s the lowdown.
Spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) are your best bet.
Spring has mild weather, blooming flowers, and perfect conditions for exploring the city.
Autumn brings pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and cool cultural events to check out.
Summers on the other hand can get hot and crowded, so be ready for that. Plus prices of accommodations and transport will be at a yearly high. When I visited Rome in the summer, it was scorching! Temperatures as high as 40°C (104°F) make for a sweaty day of traveling!
And lastly, we have Winters which are mild and less touristy, which means good deals and a chance to explore indoor attractions.
At the end of the day, there’s not necessarily a bad time to visit Rome, so if your schedule is pretty inflexible don’t stress too much! If you can pick the time of year that suits your travel style and itinerary and enjoy your Roman adventure!

Which area in Rome is best to stay in?
If you want to be in the thick of things, go for the Historic Center (Centro Storico). You’ll be close to all the famous sights like the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain.
Trastevere is another great option, particularly if you’re looking for a more local, bohemian vibe with narrow streets and cozy trattorias.
Monti is a trendy neighborhood in the city center near the Colosseum, with both bohemian and classical elements, perfect if you’re into hip boutiques and stylish bars.
For a taste of “la dolce vita,” stay near Campo de’ Fiori. During the day, you’ll find a vibrant farmers’ market offering fresh produce and regional delights. At night, the square comes alive with coffee bars, restaurants, and clubs.
So pick the hood that matches your style, and enjoy your time in Rome!
My recommendations on where to stay in Rome!
✔️ Centro Storico: Pantheon Inn
✔️ Monti: Hotel Paba
✔️ Trastevere: Etruska luxury Trastevere
✔️ Campo de’ Fiori: Casa De’ Fior

I’ve never considered a golf cart tour when in Rome, but this honestly sounds great! I’d love to explore Rome by golf cart, I feel like there’s lot of walking to be done here, but a golf cart would mean seeing a lot more in less time!
These look like so much fun! And you won’t get lost as we did on our last trip to Rome. Thanks for sharing.
Cities aren’t my thing, but the title had me curious. A golf-cart tour sounds like a good idea – slower and quieter than a taxi/bus tour. However, it reminded me of a rickshaw journey across a city in Nepal when we felt that our noses were just too close to the exhaust belching out of buses and lorries as we passed by. At least Europe has emission laws for vehicles.
Haha same here! I’m not a huge fan of cities but I loved getting to see a lot without having to learn public transportation or be in a large tour.
What a cool idea to see Rome in a golf car instead of packed in a bus full of tourists. I love this idea. Great guide.
My girls would have absolutely had a blast taking a golf cart tour. Seems like an awesome way to explore a new city.
