The weather was mild, with cool mornings and warm afternoons (some were a bit TOO warm), making it easy to explore the city comfortably.
In general, the best times to visit St. Louis are in the spring (April to May) and fall (September to October). During these months, the temperatures are usually moderate, and there’s less humidity than in the summer. Spring brings blooming flowers to the city’s many parks, while fall features beautiful foliage in Forest Park and along the Mississippi River. But remember, the real ‘best time to visit’ is when you go – exploring is the important part!

June is home to a number of major festivals. The Confluence Music Festival at the beginning of the month followed by the Webster Arts Fair, and of course St. Louis PrideFest (one of the largest Pride events in the country). If you’re renting a car to explore, plan for extra time to find parking for these events.

With moderate rainfall, carrying a small umbrella can also be a smart move to ensure uninterrupted enjoyment. However, when we visited temperatures were mid 80’s in the afternoon so be prepared!

The city comes alive with Oktoberfest celebrations, food festivals like the Q in the Lou barbecue festival, and Halloween events at the City Museum and Six Flags St. Louis. These festivities provide a perfect opportunity to explore the city’s diverse neighborhoods and enjoy delicious food.
When visiting St. Louis in October, don’t forget to bring a light jacket, as mornings and evenings can be chilly. Exploring areas like the Gateway Arch and Busch Stadium during this time offers a stunning backdrop of autumn foliage, enhancing your travel experience in this Midwestern metropolis.
